Paper Submission

The PRIME 2013 Conference will allow only electronic submission of the papers in PDF format. Perspective authors should submit their four-page paper(s) online. All the papers in PDF format MUST be verified for IEEE compliance before submission using PDF Express.

Any author can submit an unlimited number of papers, but the same speaker cannot present more than two papers. All authors presenting papers must be Ph. D. students. By Ph. D. student we mean a student who is working toward his/her Ph. D. thesis or who has discussed his/her Ph. D. thesis within one year in advance of the paper submission deadline.

The maximum number of authors per paper is four (the Ph. D. student, the advisor, and no more than two co-workers). Exceptionally five authors can be accepted, in specific cases, with the autorization of the Organizing Committee.

Due to timing constraints associated with the paper review process, paper must be received by March 25th, 2013.

After the paper selection, authors will be informed of the decision of the Technical Program Committee by e-mail on May 10th, 2013. At the same time, the preliminary program will be published on the Internet.

Authors of accepted papers should submit electronically the final four-page camera-ready manuscript (verified for IEEE compliance through PDF Express), the IEEE Copyright Form (available in Word and PDF format), and the Speaker Profile Form before May 24th, 2013.

The signed IEEE Copyright Form and the Speaker Profile Form has to be sent by e-mail to Piero Malcovati (, while the final paper has to be submitted through the on-line submission system.

The working language for the conference will be English, which will be used for all presentations and printed material.

Format of Papers

Paper submitted for PRIME 2013 must not exceed four pages with all illustrations and references included. The size of the PDF files submitted should not exceed 2 MB. Templates (Word, LaTeX, and BibTeX) are available for dowload.

Review Process

Papers submitted for review must clearly state:

  • the purpose of the work;
  • how and to what extent it advances the art;
  • specific new results and their impact.

The degree to which the paper deals with these issues will affect whether the paper is selected. The most frequent cause of rejection of submitted papers is a lack of new results. Only work that has not been previously published at the time of the Conference will be considered. Submission of a paper for review and subsequent acceptance is considered by the Committee as an agreement that the work will not be placed in the public domain prior to the Conference.
