How to Reach the Conference Venue

The conference venue "Aula Volta" is within the main University of Pavia building, Strada Nuova 65, 27100 Pavia, Italy.

From Pavia railway station you can reach the conference venue either:

  • Walk: follow the map below. The walk takes about 10 minutes through the historical center of Pavia). The main University of Pavia building entrance is marked on the map with a green arrow.
  • City bus: take bus line No. 3 in front of the railway station, direction "MONTEBOLONE" to "VITTORIA" or "MAZZINI" bus stop. Ticket may be purchased at the newsstand inside the railway station building.
  • Taxi: Piazzale della Stazione 9 (+39 0382 27439).

How to Reach Pavia

Pavia is located in the north of Italy, 35 km south of Milan. You can reach Pavia either by plane, train, or car.

By Plane

The nearest airports to Pavia are: Milano Linate (LIN), Milano Malpensa (MXP), and Bergamo (BGY). From these airports, you can reach Milano central railway station ("Stazione Centrale") by bus (from all airports), by train (only from Milan Malpensa airport), or by taxi (about 100€), and then Pavia railway station by train (Ferrovie dello Stato).

By Train

Pavia railway station can be reached from Milan central railway station ("Stazione Centrale") with suburban train line S13 every 30 minutes or with any express train on the line Milan-Genoa (Ferrovie dello Stato).

By Car

Pavia can be reached by car from Milano or Genoa by taking Highway A7 (Milan-Genoa) and exiting in Bereguardo (Pavia North), and from Piacenza or Turin by taking Highway A21 (Piacenza-Torino) and exiting in Broni-Stradella.


The average minimum and maximum temperature in May in Pavia are 12° C and 23° C, respectively.
